Introduction to Continuing Professional Development

The Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Greenwich delivers comprehensive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities through its distinguished academic departments: the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), the School of Science, and the School of Engineering. Our CPD portfolio is designed to keep professionals at the cutting edge of technological innovation, scientific advancement, and sustainable practice.

Our CPD activities take many forms, including formal educational programmes, workshops, and conferences. What distinguishes CPD from casual learning is its structured, purposeful, and documented approach to development, often guided by professional frameworks or standards established by industry bodies and associations.

Natural Resources Institute (NRI)

NRI offers specialised CPD programmes focused on global challenges in food security, sustainable development, and environmental management.

School of Science

The School of Science delivers cutting-edge CPD in fields ranging from biomedical sciences to environmental conservation.

School of Engineering

The School of Engineering provides industry-relevant CPD that addresses emerging technological challenges.

Flexible Delivery Models

Recognising the demands on working professionals, our CPD offerings are available through multiple formats:

  • Short intensive courses (1-3 days)

  • Online and blended learning options

  • Bespoke in-house training for organisations

  • Modular programmes that can build toward academic qualifications

A flexible approach

The University of Greenwich's Faculty of Engineering and Science is proud to work with local and national employers to support its provision of CPD programmes in a wide range of subjects.
