Course overview

This module aims to provide opportunity for students to enhance their existing academic literacy skills, and further develop their skills of critical judgement and problem-solving through reflective writing using a structured approach. On successful completion of this module, they will be able to evidence high levels of literacy, clarity of expression in preparation for critical analysis, synthesis, and evaluation of theory and practice at Level 7.  


Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate critical understanding of the skills required to think critically, analyse, appraise, synthesise, and evaluate information and evidence from multiple source.
  2. Evidence autonomy in the completion of an academic literacy workbook to demonstrate conceptual understanding and the ability to apply critical thinking within the academic conventions expected at post graduate masters level study.

 


Assessment

Students will be required to complete an academic literacy workbook.  

The workbook will comprise activities related to academic conventions and literacy skills for post graduate masters level study.
