Course overview

There is a changing landscape of contemporary practice across regulated and non-regulated fields of practice which require a high level of leadership in supporting the continuing professional development of the workforce. This module will be of benefit to practitioners leading supervision, teaching and assessment within their workplace at an advanced level of practice. To promote interprofessional learning practitioners will include hospital nurses and midwives such as practice development nurses, paramedics, community nurses, Health Visitors, School Nurses, District Nurses, Social Workers and Allied Health Professionals.

This module will be of benefit to practitioners leading supervision, teaching and assessment within their workplace at an advanced level of practice. Learning Outcomes

To enhance educational leadership skills in supporting practitioners within health, education and social care settings to teach, supervise and assess within their scope of practice. By the end of this course you will be able:

  • Apply and synthesise educational theory to the development, organisation and co-ordination of teaching, learning and assessment activities at an advanced level.
  • Critically evaluate effectiveness of supervision, teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Reflect upon your own effectiveness in leading teaching, supervision and assessment in advanced learning practice.
  • Critically appraise current literature which influences and contributes to organizational education policy in advanced learning practice.

 

Assessment

  1. Practice log that is pass/fail. Maximum 1500 word length.
  2. Essay 100% weighted pass mark of 50% 3000 word length
