Course overview

This module is designed for qualified staff working in a health environment who currently manage patients with respiratory conditions.

COPD is the fifth biggest killer in the UK (DoH 2010). It is also a major cause of morbidity and costs NHS Primary & Secondary Care more than many other diseases.

The module examines all aspects of the management of respiratory care in the primary and secondary health sectors.


Learning Outcomes

· You will have the opportunity to critically examine and build upon your existing knowledge and skills related to respiratory care via a range of teaching and participatory learning.


Assessment

Assignment - 100% 3000 words.

Essay with a focus on critical analysis of practice. Essay title will be provided by module co-ordinator. Minimum pass mark - 40%
