Course overview

Contemporary Issues in Sexual Health’ (OMED 1259 – Level 7) has been a successful module in the post graduate programmes for a number of years. By co-offering this module at both level 6 & 7 it will have the ability to attract more students; provide increased choice for studies; widen the suite of modules to non-clinical students / professionals, and ensure our academic portfolio of sexual health (e-learning) provision is always at the ‘cutting edge’ of required educational attainment and professional relevance.

The modules explore a range of contemporary, significant and changing issues in sexual health, including relevant, wider, multi-faceted implications on the student's own field of practice. These multi-faceted implications include social, cultural, ethico-legal and professional issues which affect client populations and / or service provision.

The module also examines a number of supporting epistemologies in the fields of sexualities and gender studies.

This module can contribute to the following programme(s)

P14229 (OfS), P14230 (DoH): PGDip Enhanced Clinical Practice
