Course overview
This module is for practitioners with a professional qualification in a health-related discipline and a first degree (or equivalent). You may undertake this module as part of the Mental Health pathway of the MSc Advanced Practice course.
In England, there are currently 570,000 people living with dementia. This is expected to double over the next 30 years, with one new case occurring every 3.2 minutes. Dementia costs the UK £17 billion each year, more than heart disease, stroke and cancer combined.
This module aims to develop the knowledge base and creative approaches to working with people living with dementia, including friends, families and carers.
